SCARBOROUGH SEAFRONT PRINT
"Scarborough (/ˈskɑːrbrə/ or /ˈskɑːrbərə/) is a town on the North Sea coast of North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, the town lies between 10–230 feet (3–70 m) above sea level, rising steeply northward and westward from the harbour onto limestone cliffs. The older part of the town lies around the harbour and is protected by a rocky headland."
A place of wonder in my childhood and to this day a place I find inspiringly beautiful. I wanted to explore the possibility of a pen and ink, watercolour style image whilst using my newly purchased digital drawing tablet. I produced this image midway into the project and was drawn towards the flat colours and screen print quality of the image at this stage. I always find myself to be more critical of my images at a finished stage so I actually like the fact that the image has an "unfinished" quality.
The final image on this page shows one of many development ideas and sketches that lead me down particular routes but ultimately end up in the bin!
